Here in West Virginia I was in two different churches on Sunday and another one tonight. I told the story of GLBM and our beloved Burmese pastors, their people, the orphans, our vision for reaching souls and planting churches in Myanmar, and the people have listened intently. I am encouraged that in my meetings I am seeing a renewed interest in world-wide missions in American churches. I am seeing more young people surrendering to be missionaries than I’ve ever seen. I praise the Lord for this! When God first sent me to Myanmar in 2009, I stood on a moonlit street in old Rangoon by myself; I looked up into the stars and asked my God, “Why am I here? What do you want from me?” I had been a pastor and an evangelist in America for many years. I had traveled to many foreign countries to preach the Gospel but my vision was still localized. But soon God made it clear to me that He was putting another people in my heart. And not only that, but GLBM would not be just about reaching souls in SE Asia but also about a renewal of the vision to take the Gospel worldwide from the shores of America. Since 1813, with the initiation of the American Foreign Missions Movement, our churches have had the heart to sacrificially send the missionaries, plant the churches, and pay for all that goes with that, to obey the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus. And I believe that is why God has smiled upon America. But we who have enjoyed God’s favor for so long, and are now taking it for granted so much, are not special. We are blessed! If we can still see beyond our own needs, desires, and problems to the billions who have never yet even one time heard about our Saviour, to be not just American Christians but have a Global Christianity, as our forefathers had, we may continue to enjoy God’s favor and power. If not, we may find ourselves more the mission field than the missionaries. They don’t have long to hear and we don’t have long to obey. I am part of an Army. I am not an Army of one but am in the Army of The One. I invite you to join me. Learn more at: https://goldenlandbaptistmissions.com/
