GLBM is working with many different church-planters in Myanmar and Thailand.  Our goal is to plant 700 churches in the Golden Land and then to train missionaries from those churches to send across their own land and to the surrounding nations.  But as we are working to do that, there are many orphans and they, as well as other children, need education.  In Thailand, there are millions of Burmese migrant worker-families and the majority of their children have no opportunity for a good education.

Pastor Emmanuel Sinoy has been in the Myanmar border city of Mae Sot, Thailand for twelve years and raised up a church with a multi-faceted ministry including services in Thai, Burmese, and English, a Bible Institute, an orphanage, and the GLBM school (Bliss Baptist Academy) with 250 students.  These children are from Buddhist, Muslim, and Animist families.  As the school year opened this month, our student body almost doubled.  The Thai Educational authority has inspected our facility, found it adequate but demanded that we build a school office for records.  Since beginning the school two years ago, we have added one grade per year.  This year we have added 7th grade.  But we must build a 7th grade classroom on to our existing complex (about $2,000).  We have had to employ an additional teacher and we now need more curriculum and supplies.  We need much more food and more dormitory space ($300 per month).  Our Bible institute has doubled in enrollment.  All of this means the need for additional funds.

Pastor Sinoy tells me that we are need of at least another $1,000 U.S. above and beyond what we now are investing in these children’s lives on a monthly basis.  And as we invest in their lives, we are seeing whole families changed.  In March of this year sixteen parents of our children turned from idols and false gods to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Most of our students have already trusted Christ as their personal Saviour.  Many of them have already expressed their desire to serve the Lord and to someday enter the Christian ministry.

As we build an army of Bible preachers and missionaries to reach their own people with Christ’s Gospel, we believe many of our students at Bliss Baptist Academy will be among the first to enlist.  Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me.”  We are trying to bring them to Him.  Will you help us?  You can donate any amount at www.goldenlandbaptistmissions.com and it’s tax deductible.  Our children would say, “Kyay zu tinba de!  Pya Thakin kaunggyi pe ba si.”  (Thank you very much!  God bless you.)
